Synthetica Gallery's mission is to provide an open environment
for socially conscious art to be displayed and created. We hope
to foster collaboration and exploration between medias.

At Synthetica Gallery, we will not limit our shows to the gallery
space. We intend to expand the exhibits from the gallery to the
lives and spaces we feel would most benefit from its message
to create a dialogue within the community.

Synthetica Gallery is a founding member of the
                Brighton Contemporary Arts Coalition.

Mason Paul is the founder of Synthetica Gallery. He is an artist, a photographer,
and an art dealer. Mason has been involved in the art community in Cincinnati and
Covington for well over 10 years. The list of galleries that he has owned and operated
include:

I m I ultra modern art gallery, Covington, Kentucky
I m I ultra modern art gallery, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
XOMA Gallery, Clifton, Ohio
Synthetica Gallery, Brighton, Ohio

Bekka Sage and Mason Paul founded the original gallery as part of an experiment.
Mason pitched the idea to the arts community in the form of a contest. The reward
for the winning idea for a gallery, was a space provided by Mason to accomplish it.
Bekka brought in a team of friend to remodel the space. They named the space
Synesthesia, Syn Gallery for short. Bekka curated four shows in the 2006 season
as well as organized indie film screenings in the space on a bi-monthly basis.
By the end of 2006 Bekka decided to step down off of the gallery board due to a film
project she was working on at the time.

In February of 2007 Mason and Jonathan decided to rename the space Synthetica
as a way to pay tribute to the gallery's industrial settings.

Jonathan Boys was an Co-Executive Director with Synthetica Gallery until March of
2008 when he relocated to Salem, Oregon to open Synthetica Gallery Northwest.
In the summer of 2006 he joined the gallery
board to help with the gallery design,
construction and maintenance.

Jonathan spent the 2007 season curating exhibits and continuing to renovate the
gallery space. He held a show of his own photography and paintings in May of
2007 with 100% of the sales going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

If you have any other questions about our gallery, please contact either Mason or
Jonathan via our 'Contact Us' page.
